St Agnes Christian Education Centre

Preparing teachers and church leaders for service in Uganda and beyond.

About the centre

Learning with purpose

St Agnes Christian Education Centre strives for academic excellence in an environment grounded in worship and service. Students take part in traditional Episcopal worship, religious education and service-learning. The centre is registered in Uganda as an institution of education and is a member of the Worldwide Anglican Church.

Its foremost mission is training teachers. Over the years, many teachers trained here now teach in schools across Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania and, more recently, Somalia. The School of Education is based at Wamala in Wakiso District, with a branch at Bwaise in Kampala. Clergy of the Worldwide Anglican Church train through its School of Theology.

“The Lord is my Shepherd” — Psalm 23

Education beyond the classroom

The centre also runs three primary schools: at Nakitolo in Mityana, Kangulumira in Luweero and Bwaise in Kampala. These schools support over 100 orphans and their families. Children of all faiths, and of none, are welcome.
